St. Louis Hillel at Washington University offers many different ways for students to become involved in Jewish life. We receive no funding from the universities we serve and rely heavily on the generous support of our parents, alumni and community to help fund our work on campus. As a parent, we hope that you will support St. Louis Hillel so that we can continue to provide excellent Jewish programming that will enable your son or daughter to further develop his or her Jewish identity and make an enduring commitment to Jewish life.
Parent Leadership Circles
Circle of Friends – $180-$459
Your gift of $180 or more supports Israel-related programming on campus.
For a gift of $180 or more, your student will receive coupons for two free Shabbat dinners at Hillel. Parents of freshmen can select to have their child receive either the above coupons or $20.00 off the registration price for the Into the Wild Freshman Retreat.
Circle of Life – $500-$999
Your gift of $500 or more will help provide a unique Passover Seder experience for 50 or more students.
For a gift of $500 or more, your student will be reimbursed up to $60 for the cost of hosting a Shabbat dinner or Passover Seder for them and three of their friends in their dorm, apartment, fraternity house or sorority suite, along with our free “Shabbat-in-a-Box” or “Do Your Own Seder” package.
Circle of Honor – $1,000+
Your gift of $1,000 or more will sponsor a student’s travel on a Jewish alternative break service trip.
For a gift of $1,000 or more, your student will receive a $100 discount to be applied to one of our two general alternative break service trips – Winter Break 2010 trip abroad with the American Jewish World Service or City Year/Hillel Spring Break 2011 trip to Miami, FL.
Circle of Distinction – $10,000+
Your gift of $10,000 or more will help underwrite our Peer-Network Engagement Internship.
For a gift of $10,000 or more, your child will receive all of the above, plus we will provide you with one (1) free round-trip ticket from anywhere within the domestic U.S. to St. Louis to visit your son or daughter. Certain restrictions apply.
Other Leadership Opportunities
In addition to our Circles of Giving, there are many other ways for parents to become involved in St. Louis Hillel, including volunteer opportunities, Board membership, and participation as a founding member of our new, distinguished National Leadership program.
